ICCSPA-2026 is hosted by a significant Spanish university: Universidad de Alcalá. It will be accommodated in the lively historic city of Alcalá de Henares, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Congress Sessions will be held in two places: at the Old Rectorate in the historic center , and in the Escuela Politécnica Superior, two vibrant and dynamic educational spaces of the Universidad de Alcalá.
Venue Locations
15th and 16th Conference Venue
The Rectorate of the University of Alcalá, housed in the historic Colegio Mayor de San Ildefonso, stands as a masterpiece of the Spanish Renaissance and the heart of a campus recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its magnificent Plateresque facade, designed by Rodrigo Gil de Hontañón, symbolizes the prestige of an institution founded by Cardinal Cisneros in 1499 to merge Christian humanism with modern intellectual currents. This landmark is not merely a 16th-century architectural monument, but the administrative and spiritual epicenter of one of Europe’s oldest and most influential universities.
Inside, the building holds invaluable historical treasures, such as the Paraninfo (Great Hall), the prestigious venue for the annual Cervantes Prize ceremony, and the Chapel of San Ildefonso, which houses the founder’s exquisite Carrara marble tomb. Its Herrerian and Mudejar courtyards offer a serene and scholarly atmosphere that once inspired great figures of world culture like Antonio de Nebrija and Quevedo. For any congress attendee, walking through its halls is an immersive journey through five centuries of educational tradition that today blends seamlessly with the innovation of contemporary research.
Key Information for Attendees:
- The Paraninfo: This is the most iconic room for formal ceremonies. Only with visiting tours.
- The Courtyards: Perfect for networking breaks in a historical setting.
- Location: Situated in the city center, within walking distance of most congress hotels
17th and 18th Conference Venue
Escuela Politécnica Superior is located within the external campus of Universidad de Alcalá in Alcalá de Henares, a UNESCO World Heritage city just 30 minutes from Madrid and 15 minutes from the international airport Madrid-Barajas “Adolfo Suárez”.
The campus combines modern academic facilities with a dynamic research environment, fostering innovation, international collaboration, and strong links with industry and technology partners. It is also very well connected to the historic city center, which can be reached in approximately 10 minutes by bus.
The main conference, plenary sessions, and selected keynote lectures, will be held in the EPS Auditorium, a fully equipped venue designed for lectures, technical presentations, and multimedia demonstrations. Parallel conference sessions and other Conference events will take place in the EPS’s Sala de Grados, an institutional hall commonly used for formal ceremonies, thesis defenses, and special conferences. ESP also offers on-campus dining facilities, including cafeteria and catering services, providing convenient meal options for participants during the event.
